The Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026 runs from Saturday 31 October to Sunday 29 November, and this year is the big one: the 10th edition. The idea is the same as always. Do 30 minutes of activity every day for 30 days, and the city gives you thousands of free classes, three Fitness Villages and four huge free events to help you do it.
This year’s slogan is “What’s Your 30×30?”, and the focus is on families, friends and colleagues getting moving together, to match the UAE’s Year of the Family. Here are all the dates, the routes, and how to sign up for free.

- Registering your family or your team? Do it early, because the big events fill up.
Dubai Ride: Sunday 1 November
The challenge starts with a bang the day after it opens. Dubai Ride, presented by DP World, closes Sheikh Zayed Road to cars so cyclists can take it over from 6am. More than 40,000 riders joined in 2025.
- 12km Sheikh Zayed Road route: for confident cyclists
- 4km Downtown family route: easy and flat, and children of all ages are welcome
- No bike? Check the registration page for bike hire options, and book early
Dubai Stand Up Paddle: 7 and 8 November
This is the one most people have not tried. Over two days at Hatta Dam, presented by the RTA, you can paddle board on the turquoise lake below the Hajar Mountains. There are also sunrise and sunset SUP yoga sessions and kayaking. Sessions start from 10.30am, and you need to register on the website.

Dubai Run: Sunday 22 November
The biggest free run in the world. Dubai Run grew from 70,000 people in 2019 to 307,000 in 2025, and once again it closes Sheikh Zayed Road for runners, walkers and pushchairs.
| Route | Start | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 5km | Through Downtown Dubai, onto Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Boulevard past Burj Khalifa | Families, walkers and first-timers |
| 10km | Starts and ends on Sheikh Zayed Road | Regular runners |
- Time: 6.30am to 9am
- Bib: collect yours before the day from the Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village at Zabeel Park
- Getting there: roads are closed, so take the Metro. In past years it has opened early on run day

Dubai Yoga: Sunday 29 November
The challenge closes with the second Dubai Yoga, presented by MHERO, on the last day. The venue has not been announced yet, but organisers have promised a session with the Dubai skyline as the backdrop. We will add the location when it is confirmed.

Where are the Fitness Villages?
There are three free Fitness Villages, open for the whole 30 days. Entry is free and you do not need to register. Expect free classes, sports courts and activities for kids.
| Fitness Village | Run by | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Zabeel Park | Dubai Municipality | Central, and the Dubai Run bib collection point |
| Al Warqa’a Park | Dubai Municipality | Families in Mirdif, Al Warqa’a and Rashidiya |
| Kite Beach | DP World | Beach workouts, with Burj Al Arab in the background |

On top of the villages, there are more than 23 Community Fitness Hubs around the city with yoga, walking, running, padel, basketball, football and volleyball. Most classes are free, but some activities run by gyms and studios may charge a fee.
What else is on during the challenge?
The 30 days line up with some of Dubai’s biggest sporting events, so you can watch as well as do. These include the Emaar Dubai Premier Padel P1, the DP World Tour Championship (golf), the Dubai T100 Triathlon, the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix and the Emirates Dubai 7s (rugby).
Five easy ways to hit your 30 minutes a day
- Walk to the Metro instead of driving, and take the stairs
- Do one free class a week at a Fitness Village or Community Fitness Hub
- Make your weekend plans active: a beach walk, a bike ride or a paddle
- Get your office to sign up as a team, and walk your meetings
- Book all four big events now, so they are already in the calendar
Who started the Dubai Fitness Challenge?
The challenge was launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to make Dubai one of the most active cities in the world. More than 16 million people took part in the first nine editions.
