El Sur’s New Pintxo Fest Is Turning Dubai Fridays Into A Spanish Sharing Table

There’s a new reason to skip the usual Friday plan. From 28 August, El Sur at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina is launching Pintxo Fest, a monthly Friday night built around unlimited pintxos, tostas and paella, a proper Spanish wine list, sangria, Estrella Galicia on tap, and a live DJ to carry the room through the evening.

If your Fridays usually swing between “brunch that starts too early” and “another dinner at the same three places,” this one’s worth putting in the calendar.

What Is Pintxo Fest?

Pintxo Fest is El Sur’s new monthly sharing-style dining concept, running once a month, on a Friday from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It’s built around the way pintxos are actually eaten in Spain: small plates that keep arriving, passed around the table rather than ordered course by course. Expect a steady rotation of pintxos and tostas, plus El Sur’s signature seafood paella landing in the middle of the table for everyone to share.

A live DJ plays through the three hours, so it moves at a different pace to a typical hotel dinner — closer to a bar crawl that never has to leave its seat.

What’s Included

  • Unlimited pintxos and tostas — small Spanish bites, served continuously through the night
  • El Sur’s signature paella — the seafood version, shared at the table
  • Spanish wines, sangria and Estrella Galicia — poured throughout the evening
  • Live DJ — 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

How Much Does Pintxo Fest Cost?

Pintxo Fest is priced at AED 149 per person, with an early bird rate of AED 99 per person for guests who book ahead. Given it covers unlimited food and drink for three hours, the early bird price in particular is one of the better value Friday offers to land in Dubai this season.

The Food: Pintxos, Tostas And A Paella Big Enough To Share

Pintxos are Spain’s answer to bar snacks — usually built on a slice of toasted bread, layered with something rich (cured meats, seafood, cheese) and finished with a garnish that ties it together. At El Sur, that’s meant everything from crispy bites piled with shredded jamón and pickled slaw, to open tostas topped with prawns, roasted pepper and a paprika drizzle, to smoked salmon with whipped goat’s cheese and arugula.

Then there’s the paella. El Sur’s seafood version — packed with shrimp, clams and calamares — comes out in the traditional wide pan and goes down the middle of the table, which is really the whole point of a night like this: less about individual plates, more about everyone reaching in at once.

The Setting

El Sur sits inside The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, with an interior built around a living plant wall, low gold lighting and a fully stocked bar — the kind of room that already feels like a night out before the first pintxo lands. The restaurant also spills onto a shaded terrace overlooking the marina, if you’d rather have your sangria outside.

Do You Need To Book In Advance?

Yes — and given it’s a new weekly concept with a limited early bird allocation, booking ahead is the only way to guarantee the AED 99 rate. Reservations can be made online through SevenRooms or by emailing 03034.restaurants@marriott.com.
